cool font links

FONTS - Can't find the fonts that I've used in my sets? 99% chance I got it from one of  these  links. *hint* I don't always remember where I've gotten all of my fonts, if there is no "readme" or copyright attached. So, if you're looking for a particular font, do a search on Google, type in the font name, (ie; "arial+font") and 98% of the time they'll will come up with it!

I thought I'd share some font tricks n' tips with you - go see! *all gone* Once Upon a Font!

Another little font-fact that I should tell you about. Most of the time I try to create my sets with free fonts that I've obtained from some of the sites below, but sometimes I like  to use a new, groovy font that I've just purchased and think that it does wonders for the set that I'm making at the time. *Please don't ask me for a copy of the font* I pay for it,  you pay for it. Simple as that. k?

*F.Y.I.* YES, I use dingbats frequently. This is not a mortal sin. Saves me time and I enjoy them. That's what God made font foundries for. k?

*New* All fonts are $4.99! The Font Marketplace has fonts that are all only $4.99 (unless you buy an entire family). Groovy.
Scrapbooking Fonts!
MyFonts - The #1 place that I purchase my fonts from. Tons of foundries here. And I have to tell you, for as large of a company that they are, they are exTREMely quick to answer your questions - always! They rockola!

Font Diner - One of the best font sites for that doo-wop retro flava! They're also responsible for an EXcellent site for retro "Snappy Hour" vector images and filters for Photoshop called "Machine Wash" filters. And very affordable!

VEER - Excellent source for rights managed and royalty free images. The font collections are some of the best! Especially Jason Walcots! (They also have a blog of interesting linkolas - The Skinny)

Fonthead - Ethan is the man! I very, very frequently use his fonts in my sets. His fonts are very reasonable, and you get anywhere from 11-19 fonts in a pack for about $30. He has some well-known freebies also. Ethan also sells his fonts individually on MyFonts - for only $12.00 apiece - yay!

Turtle Arts - New kid on the block over at MyFonts. Kerrie makes some pretty artsy, funky fonts that I immediately took a liking to. In fact, the 3D font looks a bit familiar, no? (the font I use on this site silly!)

House Industries - Beautiful beautiful. Font collections often include other items - illustrations to artwork $$ *fav*

Emigre - Excellent font foundry, $$ *fav*

t26 - mmm, 'nuther fav

Misprinted Type - Eduardo rocks! Very cool, grungey fonts with free downloads, as well as $$

TypOasis - A vast collection of various fonts for download.

DINC! fonts - Diane DiPiazza has recently made her fonts free for download - cool retro fonts

Fountain - Some freebies

Abstract Fonts - lots o' freebies, some annoying ads.

Superlooper - Great pixel fonts

minifonts - Another eXcellent source for pixel fonts  *recommended

Nick's Fonts - Excellent font designer!

Scriptorium - Gorgeous fonts and fantasy art on discs.

Font-a-licious - Ben is cool-liscious!

P22 type foundry- I first saw these fonts in the "Museum Store" here in town... very cool fonts, must purchase for use... some are quite worth it! Lot's of famous peoples' signatures ala fonts.

Chank - Need I say more? You know, I have to remember once in awhile, that not everyone is a 'fontaholic' like myself, and may not know all of the fun places to get fonts. This is one of them.

Free-Fonts-Biz - more Freebies

FuelFonts - Another most X-cellent free font resource! (I love the "FishSoup" font)

Larabie Fonts (typodermic) - Very extensive and clean fonts from this fontmaster... site loads quickly too!

PizzaDude - Fun, funky fonts. You can purchase them over at MyFonts

TypeSetter - Great way to compare fonts, live on screen.

STC Font Browser - EXcellent online utility to view all of the fonts in your font folder. I've used this to double check fonts that I own before buying new ones! *FAV tool*

psst... don't forget to check out more font goodness over here!

Finally, for all that I didn’t list, go to TypeBase for ALLL things type! Mucho linkolas!

Groovy software that I use

SOFTWARE - Probably the second most popular question is "what software do you use to create your graphics?" Well, read on kids, and I'll tell ya!

Adobe - Photoshop - yup, once you get used to using this software, it's difficult to use anything else! (and I usually don't!) Not much else to say that hasn't been said before..... I love it! Mucho plug-ins for image enhancement. For vector illustrations, Illustrator is another wonderful product from Adobe. Adobe rocks. Did you know that you can get some goodies and tips from Adobe Studio? Check it out!

Get CoffeeCup - HTML Editor & Web Design Software - Before there was NetObjects, there was CoffeeCup (for me that is). I remember when I first started creating web sites, I thought CoffeeCup was so cool. I could create all of these neato effects without knowing exactly what the heck I was doing! Then I discovered NetObjects and kind of forgot about CoffeeCup. Recently, they’ve come out with a bunch of other neat programs which has renewed my interest in them. I purchased the Flash Photo Gallery which is very customizable and affordable - check ‘em out!

NetObjects Fusion - **Good News** NetObjects has a new FREE product. NetObjects Essentials. Now you can download a free copy of their Web Design Software. I can’t believe they’re doing that - seriously - I’ve been using it for 13 yrs, and they’ve never had anything like this. Check it out! In fact, let me know how it is, k?
You will see me reference NetObjects frequently. This is the great software that I use to create my site. For the technically  challenged :::ahem::: such as *yours truly*, this program is the greatest! It allows me to stick in javascript and actions that I might not be able to do as easily on my own, or as quickly! I highly recommend!

I used to have a bunch of NetObjects links listed, but to tell you the truth, some of them seem so out of date, that if you really want to find some, just do a google search, k?

DreamSuite - This program by AutoFX has some pretty awesome image effects, such as metaling, 35mm like frames for graphics, and the coolest (I think) - tape. ya, "tape." You can apply a piece of transparent tape, duct tape, or other kinds of tape to your images - and it looks like you did it for real and scanned it! *I used this for awhile when it first came out, not much any longer, but you may still want to check it out so I left it here.

Painter IX - I  started working with this software before I started using Photoshop, or any other software for that matter. I wanted this more than anything! It was also the first time I paid over 100.00 for software. Moral of my story, this software can make your graphics look like you actually slapped some oil paint on your computer screen!  Still does a mean "metal" effect!!

HomeSite - I frequently use this excellent software to hand-code my web pages. It still allows me to see what I'm changing (I need visuals!!) and I can tweak pages that I've created in NetObjects Fusion.

Paint Shop Pro - This is also one of the first paint programs that I ever bought online. I know a lot of people swear by this software. It has many similar features to Adobe Photoshop, but without the high price. If you want to start making your own graphics, this is the ideal program to do so.

AcDSee - An excellent image viewer. I've used it forever.

WS-ftp - I use this software for uploading (ftp'ing)

Tilemachine - Just for fun - create your own tiles for backgrounds.
VERY Cool Online Background Maker - go see!!*
Plaid, Tartan Maker - another background toy
Patterns of Change - PatternsPatternsPatterns

Would you like to get my newsletter? You’ll get first notices on anything new & shiny around here!
This is an entirely NEW sign-up form guys!

Ok y’all, I’m cleaning things up around here, so I thought I’d add some gnu stuff, k? Like an old hunk o’ cheese in your fridge, starts to get a little moldy after awhile, right?

Since I’m already kind of all over the place with my links, these may be somewhat random, k? Plus I’m updating new links on all of my resource pages so you’ll just have to look around dudes.

FavIcon - You know that little picture up in your browser’s address bar? Next to the website URL? You can put one on your site too. This site lets you make one really easy. Description on the site.

Meomi Cloud House - cute little freebie critter desktops, icons

DIY people - Are you a stay at home mom? Have a little hobby and all of your friends tell you “OH, you really should sell those!!” Sometimes I go to this forum where like minded women (lets face it, most of them ARE women) post a whole bunch of stuff related to shops, promoting your stuff, how to, so on and so forth. Sometimes it’s fun just to see what people are selling - ya, more places to shop! Go see what I mean over at the Switchboard Forums.

Speaking of shopping, just in case you don’t know about it (you don’t??) you must visit Etsy. Lots n’ lots n’ lots of cool DIY stuff - w-a-y too many things to list. Just take a look, k?

Hey, wanna see some of my Flickr pics? Just click on any of them in the nifty little box below.

This is a Flickr badge showing items in a set called Me and my little family. Make your own badge here.

FYI - I’ve been working on changing all of my links to just open in the same window. Kind of getting away from having them open in a new window, sometimes that can be annoying, dont’cha think? Besides, you know where the back button is, right?
